Peptide Therapy Changed How I Manage My PCOS
Below you’ll find everything you need to get started with EllieMD — from creating your free profile to seeing my personal stack and why I use it.
Why I Started My PMOS Girlies
I’m Amy Larson, the founder of My PMOS Girlies. I started this space because healing from PCOS takes more than a quick fix — it takes real information, honest conversations, and a community that gets it. My PMOS Girlies is about healing beyond band-aids: looking at the whole picture, not just symptoms.
Peptide therapy has been a game changer in how I manage my PCOS and overall health. Insulin resistance is huge for PCOS/PMOS — when your body starts using insulin the way it’s supposed to, everything else starts falling into place: hormones regulate, food noise quiets down, inflammation goes down. It’s pretty much the domino that tips everything else over.
EllieMD gave me a way to work with licensed providers on that piece of the puzzle, from home. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or years into your journey, you’re welcome here.
What I Personally Take
Peptide Therapy
Tirzepatide (GLP-1/GIP + B12)
This is the one I take, and it’s foundational for me. It controls my insulin resistance and keeps my A1C in check. Insulin resistance is huge for PCOS/PMOS — when your body starts using insulin the way it’s supposed to, everything else starts falling into place: hormones regulate (including testosterone), food noise quiets down, inflammation goes down. It’s pretty much the domino that tips everything else over.
Peptide Therapy
MOTS-C
This one’s newer for me, and the research is what sold me. Women with PCOS actually run lower in MOTS-C than women without it — in blood and muscle tissue — and it’s a mitochondrial peptide tied to insulin sensitivity. It works by activating AMPK, the switch that helps your body use glucose and burn fat instead of storing it, which goes straight at the insulin resistance PCOS is built on. Human research is still early, so I treat it as one more tool, not a fix — but replenishing something my body may already be short on made sense to me.
Questions I Get Asked A Lot
What is EllieMD?
EllieMD is a telehealth platform that connects you with licensed medical providers who evaluate whether peptide therapy or GLP-1/GIP medications are a fit for you, based on your health history and goals.
How do I get started?
Create a free profile, answer a few questions about your health and goals, and a licensed provider reviews your information to determine next steps. It’s all done online.
Do I need a prescription?
Yes. Anything prescribed through EllieMD is reviewed and approved by a licensed provider — nothing is self-prescribed or sold over the counter.
Why did you personally choose EllieMD for PCOS?
Insulin resistance sits at the center of a lot of my PCOS symptoms. Working with licensed providers on that piece, alongside the other things I do for my health, has made a real difference for me. I share my exact stack above so you can see what that looks like in practice.
